Math in Action CLASSES
Classes provide an enrichment that reinforces many of the math skills taught in the classroom and expands our kids’ math knowledge. Classes meet weekly afterschool from October to April. Activities vary by grade.
Math in Action classes is not about drills and memorization. It is also not a tutoring program. The main goal of this program is to provide our children opportunity to practice their math skills while having fun with the fascinating subject of math.

MATH CHALLENGE
Through this website and Rockwell’s electronic Bugle, three math problems (for grade 1-2, 3-4, 5-6) will be published every other week beginning in October. Students will give their answers to their teachers or directly online (www.mathinaction.org) by the Thursday following the Bugle’s distribution. Only correct answers submitted by Thursday afternoon will be eligible for a free popcorn ticket or a prize. Our principal, Mrs. Livingston, or her co-anchor will pick one winner from each grade level on Friday during the morning news.
Students who complete at least 10 series of math challenges at their grade level will receive a special prize at the end of school year Award Assembly.
