Your child now has access to IXL Math from home.
Letter announcing IXL at Norman Rockwell
Remember, IXL is ideal for letting kids practice math concepts learned. It's a good reinforcement tool at home. Kids can practice at their own level and pace. Kids who need extra practice and kids who want to get ahead can benefit from the program.
How does my child access IXL at home?
Your child will soon receive his/her username and password (if not already). They can access it from anywhere as long as you have internet connection. Our school sign-in page is: https://www.ixl.com/signin/nres.
What skills should my child practice?
If your child is on track on his/her math skills, you should follow the list of skills assigned or recommended by your child's teacher. For your reference, there will be a list of IXL skills on this page that are aligned to our EnvisionMath curriculum. You may use the list as a guideline. Kids needing extra practice may practice skills from one grade below his/her current level, and kids who are ready to go above and beyond may go above his/her grade level skills.
September skills list (aligned with EnvisionMath): Kinder First Second Third Fourth Fifth
October skills list (aligned with EnvisionMath): Kinder First Second Third Fourth Fifth
November skills list (aligned with Envision Math) : Kinder First Second Third Fourth Fifth
December skills list (aligned with EnvisionMath): Kinder First Second Third Fourth Fifth.
January skills list (aligned with EnvisionMath): Kinder First Second Third Fourth Fifth How often should my child practice?
Practice makes perfect. It is as simple as that. Many students, who used IXL last year, said that they practice 1 to 2 skills a day. Some parent recommends to tie in a 10 to 15 minutes spent on IXL as part of their routine daily homework. Other students log in only on Wed (early dismissal) and weekends.
How do I check my child's progress? Once you sign-in, using your child's username/password, go to Reports.
Report Overview provides general information on your child's performance and recent activities. On the left menu, there are a number of reports that you can generate. For example, the Usage reports will show you how long and what skills your child has practiced. The Performance by skill assesses your child's performance on each skill.
How does the 'Prize Program' work?
Thanks to our PTA, your child can actually earn tangible prizes when they practice math on IXL. The more they practice, the more prizes they will receive. The purpose of the prize program is keep our students motivated throughout the school year. Milestones will be check every two weeks by our volunteers starting October 31st.

How do I check on my child's cumulative score?
Under Reports, choose Progress and click on Improvement over time from the left menu
Set the date range: this school year. Grade: all.
This report will show skills practiced during this school year. The change in the SmartScore show points earned. We look at these changes because we are only calculating the score of your student's current grade level and above. Adding up all the points (changes in the SmartScore) will give you the cummulative scores of the current school year. You may export this report to Excel and have the program calculate the total score for this school year.
