MATH COACHES (FOR GRADE 2, 3, AND 6)

Math coaches are needed for various grades. You can make a difference by just coaching a 10 week long session. Materials are available, and training will be provided.

Responsibilities includes:

• lesson planning (Aug/Sep) - 2 hours
• prepare lessons, math activities, and take home practices - about 1 hour prior to each class.

MATH CHALLENGE EDITOR (mid Oct- earlyJun) FILLED

• edit and correct math challenges (30 minutes biweekly)
• work together with another editor/admin to ensure high quality of challenges are produced

MATH GAMES COORDINATOR (November - February)

• arrange room reservation with Rockwell office for math games session - 30 minutes in October
• recruit and organize volunteers rotation for the duration of the program; make sure there are enough volunteers for each session - about 1 hour in October
• coordinate and select games to be used for each Math Game session - ongoing
• communicate to teachers and students - ongoing about 15 minutes/ week

ONLINE MATH LEAGUE COORDINATOR (NOV, FEB, AND MAR)

• Coordinate OML series of contests on November, February, and March)
• Register 2nd- 6th graders who are interested in the League.
• Winner announcements through Bugle and MIA website.
• Award Assembly in June 2011.

OTHER SHORT-TERM POSITIONS:

• Online Math League & volunteers (Nov, Feb, Mar)
• Math games volunteers - volunteer for as little as 30 minutes! Games sessions run on Nov till Feb.
