MATH COACHES (FOR GRADE 2, 3, AND 4)

Math coaches are needed for various grades. You can make a difference by just coaching a 10 week long session. Materials are available, and training will be provided.

Responsibilities includes:

lesson planning (Aug/Sep) - 2 hours
prepare lessons, math activities, and take home practices - about 1 hour or less prior to each class.

MATH CHALLENGE Coordinator (mid Oct- earlyJun) - filled

edit, correct math challenges, and prepare prizes (45 -60 minutes biweekly)
work together with another editor to ensure high quality of challenges are produced
keep track of students submissions
prepare awards in June

MATH GAMES COORDINATOR (Mid October - February) - filled

arrange room reservation with Rockwell office for math games session - 30 minutes in October
recruit and organize volunteers rotation for the duration of the program; make sure there are enough volunteers for each session - about 1 hour in October
coordinate and select games to be used for each Math Game session - ongoing
communicate to teachers and students - ongoing about 15 minutes/ week

MIA Online/IXL Prize Coordinator - filled

Managers will work together to implement IXLMath and the Prize Program so that all Rockwell students (grade K-6) benefit from it. Training will be provided. You may volunteer from home.

Monitor activities for assigned class/grade. (1 hour or less /week)
Communicate with teachers and parents if necessary. (as needed)
All managers work together for incentive programs. (1-2 hours- end of August)
Responsible for prize distributions. (15 minutes /week or every other week)

OTHER SHORT-TERM POSITIONS:

Math games volunteers - volunteer for as little as 30 minutes! Games sessions run during the month of November untill February.
